We provide model accuracy checking as well as drawings quality checking
. By using the DOUBLE MODEL CHECKING SYSTEM we can assure our customers that the final
project is completely accurate. Layout, fabrication and part drawings are
checked and correction markups provided. We can provide written RFI's if
requested to do so.
We work on all types of structural steel projects, both large and small. Our system only works on projects modelled with 3D structural software.
The working principle of the DOUBLE MODEL CHECKING SYSTEM is that two modelling teams working separately from each other will not make exactly the same mistake at exactly the same location. If two detailing teams follow the design drawings exactly the resulting models will be exactly identical at the exact same location. If the design drawings are not exactly clear, the resulting models will not be exactly the same.
The cost of the extra modelling is not significant as we have developed our own software that can read the structural pdf design drawings and create approx. 80% of the 3D model very quickly. Connections need to be modelled by the modelling team.

Methods
Two 3D models are created for every project. The models are "overlayed"
and compared for similarities and differences.
- We use our proprietary software to compare models for
similarities and differences.
- When differences are found the checkers focus
is directed to the design drawings for that location.
- Corrections are made to both models.
- Both models are compared again using our
proprietary software of our design.
- The process is repeated until both models
are completely checked.
- Traditional methods are used to check drawings.
- We have software to check some portions of drawings
to reduce time and effort.
Our checking is a result of a process and system. The resulting accuracy
is not dependant on an individuals personal effort or skill. The model is not
released until everything is perfect.
We have also developed software that significantly reduces the modelling time for
each project. The software is able to read and interpret some parts of the structural
design drawings and can create approx. 80% of the model structure very quickly.
